I was lucky enough to grow up in a Halloween neighborhood. Residents went all out with yard décor and the neighborhood parade quickly grew from tens to hundreds to over a thousand participants in only a few short years. I have so many memories from my years of trick or treating and most of them are tied to the people who made these nights so special - the Houges that hand carved over 100 pumpkins and gave out full size candy bars, the Marrs family who handed out Mars bars, and the Hargis family who gave out cans of Coca Cola.
