HiFi Likes: December 2024
And just like that - it’s (almost) 2025. I had no idea that this year would bring so much change for me. While the year didn’t end how I thought it would, I’m ending the year with so many wonderful memories (in needlepoint and in real life) and with a fresh start as 2025 begins. As we wrap up 2024 the year, I thought I’d share some of my favorite things, needlepoint and beyond, from throughout the year.
What I’m Stitching
I’m thrilled that I have finally finished what might be my longest running WIP - the Fox and Hound eyeglass case. It is nice to have a fresh start as I start a new year. Looking back at the 38 items I stitched this year, my absolute favorite stitches were I Love You Puppy by Rachel Barri Designs, La Dolci Vita Elephant by SCT Designs, King of Hearts by Coco Frank, and Retro Santa with Dots by Taylor Beach Designs.
What Tools I’m Using
As I traveled more this year than I have in a while, I realized how much easier stitching is when you’ve got helpful tools. Looking back at the top purchases of the year, you all seem to agree. The top purchases were needlepoint tools and included:
Scissors - The mini scissors are a classic and if you follow me on Instagram, you know that I put a pair in every project bag so I’m never without them.
Needle puller - Perfect to pull through stubborn needles.
Snag Nab It - Necessary to tame uneven stitches before sending items off for finishing.
Correction pen - A must when color swapping!
Micron pen - Great when you need a little help adding a border for finishing rows.
