After a very cold winter, I’m thrilled for the arrival of spring! In addition to the warm weather, I love that spring also brings so many seasonal stitching opportunities – St. Patrick’s, Easter, cherry blossoms, and moving into patriotic before we know it! And let’s not forget market! Twice a year designers release larger batches of new needlepoint designs as part of needlepoint market. I’ve been watching Instagram and my inbox for sneak peaks of new canvases and am making a shopping list for the next few months (you can keep track of your own wish list with this template). In the meantime, I’m sharing what I’m been stitching and consuming this month.
What I’m Stitching
I was so excited to get three ornaments stitched this month. I finished stitching the King Cake by Needle Nola at the start of the month (just in time for Fat Tuesday). I’m excited to try finishing it as a puffy ornament so I can hang it on my tree for next year.
Having just celebrated St. Patrick’s Day, I also stitched two new canvases for the tree. Using so many green beads, I stitched the Shamrock Champagne from C’ate La Vie. For the second ornament, I took a cost effective route. I felt the Irish flag was a simple enough DIY canvas, so I grabbed scrap canvas and threads from my stash and stitched a flag in an afternoon.
