While there are many designers that release new designs throughout the year, there is a particular influx of new designs twice a year during needlepoint market (which happens in the spring and fall). Market is happening this weekend, but designers and shops have been sharing previews of new designs on social media and email for the last few weeks. Today I’m sharing a little bit about market and some of my favorite new releases.

What is needlepoint market anyway?

Market is a trade show open only to wholesale exhibitors (designers) and industry buyers (shops). Unfortunately, it’s not open to stitchers. Designers bring stock of current and new canvases for shops to buy, and canvases are available for shops to take home with them. While many designs will be in stock at the beginning of market, others might be preorder only, or switch to preorder if stock sells out. Note: Items that are preorder won’t be available immediately. When the canvas will ship will depend on the designer, but preordering will ensure a canvas is reserved when it comes in.
